Opportunities

Postdoctoral Fellow

A full-time NIH-funded postdoctoral fellow position is available in Gao Lab at University of Cincinnati. Research in Gao lab focuses on understanding the functional impact of RNA metabolism in cardiometabolic disease progression. We are interested in dissecting the role of RNA binding proteins in cardiometabolic disorder and identifying novel RNA binding proteins in the heart.
The Gao lab utilizes a variety of sequencing approaches to dissect the dynamics of RNA metabolism in cardiovascular diseases, including Ribo-seq, BRIC-Seq, CLIP-Seq and single-cell sequencing. Candidates with the following background are encouraged to apply: cardiovascular physiology, RNA biology, molecular biology and genetically modified mouse models. Candidates should have a Ph.D or MD/PhD degree within the past two years.
Applicants should submit CV, Cover Letter and contact information of three references to [email protected]

Graduate Student

The Gao lab is dedicated to providing the next generation scientists a strong and inclusive educational and research environment. We welcome both master students and PhD students to be involved in our research.
Future students are encouraged to apply through one of the following educational programs:
1. Molecular, Cellular and Biochemical Pharmacology: https://med.uc.edu/education/pharm-phd/home
